The International Lufball Federation (ILF) was established in 2007 in Berlin. At this time, only six countries (Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands) was known in the sport. A major breakthrough was the year 2008 when it was first staged Lufball European Championship. Then eight teams participated in the continent competition in Germany, which the hosts won. One year it could settle in Belgium EC, which was also won by the Germans. In 2010, the first World Championship taken place in Germany. The 16-team tournament has four South American countries participated, while Brazil could stand on top of the podium. It also already had their own associations in 23 countries. The Hungarian Lufball Association (MLBSZ) was established in 2011, in Budapest. The first club, the Budapest Kings at the beginning of the national team is announced, but from 2012 onwards have been established line of smaller clubs around the country. The Hungarian national team's first international appearance in 2012, the European Championship was held in Belgrade, where our people in the 16 team field closed in sixth place (the EC, moreover, the Spaniards have won). This thanks to Hungary in November 2012 won the 2013 and the 2016 World Championships right to organize. It ordered the Nightclub Budapest, the 2013 World Cup in the group stage as hosts said goodbye to the boys (one win, two defeats), was the winner of Germany. 2014 lufball had nine teams registered in Hungary (Budapest (six) and one in Kecskemét, Gyor and Szeged), the squad is now next to the Kings of Szeged LC also gave players. A nagy áttörést a 2008-as esztendő hozta, amikor először rendeztek Lufball Európa-Bajnokságot. Ekkor nyolc csapat vett részt a németországi kontinensviadalon, amit a házigazdák nyertek. Egy évre rá Belgium rendezhetett EB-t, melyet szintén a németek nyertek. A 2010-es évben Németország rendezhette az első Világbajnokságot. A 16 csapatos tornán már négy dél-amerikai ország is részt vett, a dobogó tetejére pedig Brazília állhatott. Ekkor egyébként már 23 országnak volt saját szövetsége. Hazánkban 2011-ben alakult meg a Magyar Lufball Szövetség (MLBSZ), mégpedig Budapesten. Az első klub, a Budapest Kings eleinte a válogatottat is jelentette, ám 2012-től sorra jöttek létre a kisebb egyesületek országszerte. A magyar válogatott első nemzetközi szereplésére a 2012-es, belgrádi Európa-Bajnokságon került sor, ahol a mieink a 16 csapatos mezőnyben a hatodik helyen zártak (ezt az EB-t egyébiránt a spanyolok nyerték). Ennek – is – köszönhetően Magyarország 2012 novemberében elnyerte a 2013-as, és a 2016-os Világbajnokság rendezési jogát. A Budapesti I. Szórakozóhelyben rendezett, 2013-as VB-n házigazdaként a csoportkörben búcsúztak a fiúk (1 győzelem, 2 vereség), a győztes Németország lett. 2014-ben már 9 lufball csapatot jegyeztek Magyarországon (hatot Budapesten, egyet Kecskeméten, Győrben, és Szegeden), a válogatottba pedig a Kings mellett immár a Szegedi LC is adott játékost. Eszes László gárdája 2014-ben a nyolcadik, míg tavaly az ötödik helyen zárta a kontinensviadalt. Idén pedig ismét Budapest mutathatja meg a világnak, hogy milyen jól tud Világbajnokságot rendezni. A lufball sport fejlődése egyébként töretlen, ma már 568 klubot és 2130 igazolt játékost jegyeznek szerte a világon.
